It's here, It's here, It's finally here. The day we have been waiting for 9 months! No, not the arrival of baby girl (almost) but, the final reveal of The Nursery! After many late night DIY projects, painting, stenciling, crafting, shopping, returning, arranging and finally nesting; I am pleased to have this sweet little room to welcome our sweet baby girl home to!
It all started from a little piece of inspirational fabric! If you have been following my blog along during this process some of these items will be familiar to you. If not, I will point them out and link them to their original posts along the way! This particular piece of fabric can be found from the original post HERE!
This turned into a conceptual board that led the theme for the whole room. I was pretty much on par for following the concept board, except for one minor change and that was the rug!
The original rug I choose was waaayyy to expensive, so I brought in an alternative. You don't always have to follow your concept board to a T, it is often a guide to help you stay within your color scheme and theme. I have to say, I am pretty excited how it all turned out!
I wanted to have more of a Parisian inspiration than a Parisian theme, so you will see subtleties in the room hinting to that French Flair! One example if the very first DIY project I did for the room and that was the Fantastic Fandelier!
My next big project for the room was using my wonderful Hot Air Balloon fabric and turning them into Works of Art! You can find that tutorial HERE.
After adding the all important required pieces, such as; the crib, the changing table (changing station), and the rocker (nursing station), I added a special touch to the room by creating a Hot Air Balloon Mobile. I went against the tradition of hanging it over the crib and decided instead to hang it over my nursing station. I figure she will be spending more time in this area initially as opposed to her crib as I have a bassinet for her where she will sleep in our room for a while!
We finished up the room with a great graphic stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils , an embellished mirror over the changing table and a monogrammed initial help to personalize the space. All of those tips can be found HERE!
And there you have it, a beautiful nursery Pour Une Petite Fille! Thank you so much for everyone's support and words of encouragement as I went through the process of Nesting this Nursery! I will be going on maternity leave for a few months in order to focus on my little ones, but don't worry, I shall return.
Until then, Please enjoy a few more pictures from the finished nursery, and feel free to visit older posts for more inspiration!!
